Since I can't really grid the fabric with the pens I've got, I decided to do longer, thinner sections. I ran a grid thread along the bottom to count out every 10, and then I'm just resigning myself to counting the vertical. This section is 3 pages wide and 1/3 page(ish) tall, so I can finish three pages in three sections. Once I finish off this first set of pages, I'll switch to 4 pages wide (it fits nicely in the Q-snap) and 1/4 page tall.
This current colour I'm working on (the darker blue in the top right corner) is the one with the most stitches in this section. It's got 3203 stitches in a section with 7623 total... 42%. at least once that's done there won't be all that much left in this section! I think I've only done about 300 or so stitches of that one, so there's still a good chunk left.

Hidden Harbour
Page 1 done! Only 103 to go :)
This page was sky and clouds. Page 2 is also sky and clouds... as is page 3... in fact, there's a lot of sky and clouds in my future.

Supersized Hidden Harbor
I was feeling bad about the pokemon piece, so I decided to start on the Hidden Harbor... the pattern is split into 104 pages. 999x749; 748,251 total stitches; 25x18.75 inches on 40ct Verdal; each page is only going to cover 2x2.5 inches. The rough rectangle you see in the picture is the first page.
Going with a waste knot method of locking down the threads on this one, since the stitches are tiny and it's hard to run the thread under stitches on the back (especially with the evenweave, since I'm worried about pushing stitches underneath the weave if I push too hard).
I think I may divide future pages into columns or rows instead of doing the whole thing in one go... I'm having a rough time with the counting going with the whole page since I can't really mark on the canvas (my fabric pen is too big). Maybe I could see if I could find a finer-tipped pen?

Many things were worked on
So there was a new job started recently, and I've been crashing pretty early and not getting a lot done. The first week has officially been conquered now though, so time to show off the little bit that got done in the meantime.
The pokemon piece is temporarily on hold for now, since I really don't like that thread on the 28-count. It's too thick and making it too hard to get stitches in. I'm looking at either using different thread or different cloth, but for now there are other projects to work on!
Elegance got another column and a half. I'm going with 20-stitch-wide columns on her instead of 10, so each column takes longer, but I think it should end up going a bit faster in the long run.
In person, the difference between the darker and lighter yellows is a LOT harder to see. Maybe it's just the light I'm using. Or maybe I just need to zoom out more often. The seams between columns are also less obvious in person. The backstitching should help hide that when the time comes.
When I got to the section where the entire row was just black cross stitches on Twilight, I checked the left half of the pattern and realized that that half had the entire row in black as well... so those rows I just continued across the whole thing. Only one more row of that though, and then I return to just the right half (the right half has 10 full rows of black, while the left half only has 7). It gives me an idea of how big the piece is going to be though. It seems like there's already a lot done on this one!

Epic Pokemon Gen I - Day 6
Page 1 done! I switched over to the traveling confetti salesman method, and it worked up a lot faster than parking (I kind of figured it would, which was of course why I switched over).
A lot of the colours are from the green family, but once they're actually in the piece, they look a lot less green. Most of the dark brown on Tauros is olive, and Pinsir's pincers are also various shades of green. There's also green in Moltres' fire (for some reason).
Pokemon started: 7/151 (Moltres, Omanyte, Tauros, Porygon)
Pokemon completed: 3/151(Zapdos, Flareon, Porygon)

Epic Pokemon Gen I - Day 3
Start of Generation I. First column on the first page complete. There's 30 pages in total... this might take a while :) Maybe I should run it through my pattern routing algorithm and do cross country instead of parking. That might go faster.
I'm doing this 1 over 1 on 28 count. I should have included a banana or something in the picture, but we didn't have any on hand at the time.
I'm also not doing the blue background... I don't mind the background on this generation, but the background on the others I'm not so fond of. And if I'm going to be making the set, I kind of want them to match.
