Provence Market

First 10 rows complete!

This half of the piece has a lot less confetti. I mean, the trees are going to be pretty bad for confetti, but the buildings and sky and the umbrellas are full of larger chunks of colour.

You can see pretty well where the bottom of the umbrellas are at this point. They're going to really get going in the next 10 rows. The purple patch in the center and the maroon on the left are the only parts of the umbrellas that are done yet. Other than their poles of course.

I'm looking forward to the large chunks of colour that the umbrellas promise.

40 files down, 1347 stitches. 214 files to go!

Provence Market

And that's the first row done (finished it off last night, but it was kind of late).

Got a bunch of that greenery done on the left side, I think the remaining holes are mostly filled in with reds, though there might be one green left. That part wasn't so bad - the longest path was under 400 stitches - but that's because the green's are interrupted by an umbrella on that side. Once I get above the umbrella to the trees above, it's probably going to be a bunch of long paths to fill in all the leaves.

That's another 39 files, 2451 stitches. 254 files to go!

Provence Market

Forgot to post an update pic yesterday! It's a little bit dark with the lighting I've got, but you can see the tops of the people on the right side there! You can see some of the outlines of the first umbrellas too, but unless you knew what they were you can't tell.

I was going to start from the top left corner again like I did with the bottom half, but I was so worried that I'd miscounted while gridding and I didn't want to chance it. I also took away the 250 stitch limit per file, and just broke them up by path this time. I've already done 2 paths over 250 stitches in this section, though they weren't that much bigger than 250. I think the biggest one is almost 1800 stitches, but it's all half stitches so that's good!

20 files down, 1159 stitches. 293 files to go!

Provence Market

Bottom half is done! I went ahead and did the backstitching on this half, just to say that it's completely done. Only took a couple hours. I'm still not sure whether or not I want to push forward with this one and finish it or switch to Elegance for a bit.

That's the last 14 files done, 1362 stitches. 373 files in the top half!

Provence Market

So close now! I think this half will be done this weekend!

38 files down, 2320 stitches. 14 files to go!

Provence Market

Another 10 rows down! It felt like there were a lot of long paths in this set. All that stuff in the bottom left corner is made up very few different colours (compared to the rainbow in the top part), so there are more stitches per colour, therefore longer paths.

It feels like I'm on the home stretch here... then I get to start the top half! I think I've decided that I'm going to do the backstitching on this half before I switch over. Though I'm not sure if I'm going to jump right into the second half of this one, or switch over to Elegance for a page just to switch it up. We'll have to see how I'm feeling that day (which isn't that far off now!).

17 files down, 1806 stitches. 36 file to go!

Provence Market

Top 90 rows are full, only 50 more to go!

There were what felt like a LOT of long paths in this last one, all in that bottom left corner, but of course now a bunch of that corner's already filled in. I'm looking forward to filling in the pots, just a lot of adjacent stitches all the same colours. And less green. I'm not sure if there's more or less green in the top half, but for now I'm avoiding the question.

30 files down, 2945 stitches. Only 53 files left to go!

Provence Market

We have officially hit the bottom of the piece! Got a bunch more done of the plants in the center pot too. I realized that I'm actually getting pretty close to being done the bottom and the top part isn't completely transcribed yet, so I did a little bit of that last night: I've got the top left corner done now. I'm wondering if I mightn't split the top half and do it in two goes, just so it's not so much at once.

28 files down, 1987 stitches. 83 files left!

Provence Market

Rows 61-70 went real fast. Two rows didn't have any files, and while there were 3 files that were >200 stitches, one of those was already done and one was half stitches.

The flowers and boxes on the right side are all finished now, there's just pathway left on that side. The bottom left corner is going to be a lot of green leaves, and a couple blue pots (you can see the start of the bigger one below the sunflowers), then there's the pair of pots in the middle of the pathway. It doesn't seem like a lot when you put it that way, but there's still a lot of stitching to be done, and then we need to do it all over again for the top half!

12 files down, 968 stitches. 111 files to go!

Provence Market

Okay, so when I said that the sunflowers were really coming together previously... NOW they're really coming together. Top 60 rows are filled in now. Definitely more than half done at this point, and it's starting to actually look it. By the file numbers, it's just over 2/3.

28 files down, 2218 stitches. 123 files left.

Provence Market

And that's the first 50 rows done! A LOT more of the pavement is filled in now, and it's nice because the half stitches go very quickly. I've finally got some stitches in that central planter, and the sunflowers on the left are starting to look a lot clearer.

36 files down (I blame Easter), 2661 stitches. 151 files left!
